About Us

My name is Mrs. O, and I am the primary teacher in The Delightful Classroom.

I am a classical educator, and this philosophy guides my teaching style. I have been classically educating my children for over a decade and have been teaching online IEW classes for several years. The Fix It! Grammar and theme-based writing books are my favorites!

Before choosing to homeschool, I earned my B.S. in Family and Human Services (plus many more hours in education and child development) from a liberal arts university. I have taught in the classroom in clinical and educational settings. My experience in these professional settings has included working with children from various backgrounds, from preschool through high school.

I regularly continue my education by attending classical training conferences and seminars. I have enjoyed teaching classes online and in educational co-ops and have taught homeschooling children from early elementary through high school. I enjoy using Socratic discussion methods and regularly practice these skills by moderating literature and classical studies discussion groups. Most recently, this has included the Iliad, the Odyssey, the Aeneid, and United States History.
